Professional experiences

Currently, I am a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Greenwich. I have been a Senior Researcher and Marie Curie Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science (formerly Social Psychology). I received my PhD with the highest distinction from the Free University Berlin, where I founded and headed the research group Comparative Differential and Personality Psychology, funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG). 

I have been a visiting scholar at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies, National Research Council of Italy (ISTC-CNR) in Rome and conducted research projects in the Netherlands, among them at Utrecht University. In addition, I was a Lecturer at Free University Berlin’s Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology; Department of Psychological Assessment, Differential and Personality Psychology, and Psychological Intervention.

My research career started at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (MPI-EVAN), Department of Comparative and Developmental Psychology, and the Wolfgang Köhler Primate Research Center (WKPRC) in Leipzig. Thereafter, I was a Lecturer and Researcher at Humboldt-University of Berlin, Department of Personality Psychology.

I worked in Human Resources Management where I led a Management Development project in the U.K. headquarters and plants of an international steel-working company. I have also been working in Computer-Human Interaction (CHI) research, amongst others in a software usability project of the Department of Engineering Psychology, Humboldt-University of Berlin and Daimler Chrysler AG, Germany.
